The Poggiarelli is a 56 years old Vineyard in the best portion of the Signano property. It is located on the south side of the San Gimignano Hill and it enjoys an East/West exposure that guarantees the perfect micro climate for a powerful and authentic Vernaccia.
The very first week of August, Manrico Biagini (owner/wine maker) does the "green harvest", where most of the grape are cut down to the ground, leaving on the vines only the best clusters.
Towards the end of September the hand picked grapes are transferred to the winery that sits only few steps from the Poggiarelli vineyard. Soft pressed in bladder press, the juice ferments for about 20 days into temperature controlled stainless still vatsand becomes Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG !
