Castellina in Chianti is located deeply inside the classic area of Chianti production among the valley of the Elsa, Pesa and Arbia rivers. Chianti Classico Gallo Nero must be age at least one year before it can be drunk. One year of care and controls, during which all the qualities of the wine develop and stabilized.
Chianti Classico can be released after October 1st of the year following the harvest.
